OK, so here's what you need to bring along to Funky Felt Fedoras
- You need to have a felt hat body, you can get them from Torb & Reiner in Murrumbeena http://www.torbandreiner.com/online-shop-1/millinery-supplies/hoods or House of Adorn in Glen Waverley, http://www.houseofadorn.com/index.php/millinery/bases-bodies/felt-hat-bodies. You need a capeline, either fur felt, velour (also make of fur felt) or wool felt. If you want a stingy brim style you could look at a sleeve.
- Ribbons are available locally here but if you want to buy some you can get petersham ribbon, get 1.5 meters (enough for 2 hats.. saves waste) of 25mm wide and if you want to put it around the edge of the brim you can get an extra 1.5 meters in a matching or complimentary colour. If in doubt you can leave it to the weekend.
- Get a reel of matching thread and
- whatever you can manage from the list in this link http://serena-lindeman-student-resources.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/equipment-for-class.html If you go cross eyed looking at the list don't panic I have plenty of everything so I can help you out.
- You don't have to have your own block but if you want to look at what's available then I recommend you look here http://www.hatblocksbydesign.com.au/fedoras
